Schostakowitsch in Gohrisch e.V.

The association “Schostakowitsch in Gohrisch e. V.” was founded on June 22, 2009 in the resort municipality of Gohrisch.

The purpose of the association is to raise public awareness of the visits of the composer Dmitri Shostakovich in Gohrisch and to honor them appropriately. This includes the scientific reappraisal of these visits and above all the holding of cultural events at the composer's places of work in Gohrisch. These are organized and carried out in close cooperation with the Sächsische Staatskapelle Dresden.

The highlight is the annual Gohrisch Shostakovich Festival with internationally well-known Shostakovich performers.

The association is registered in the register of associations at the district court of Dresden under VR 21123.

The tax-privileged charitable status is recognized with a certificate from the Pirna tax office dated 3.8.2011. The tax number is 210/143/04220 K3.
