Schostakowitsch in Gohrisch e.V.

The association "Shostakovich in Gohrisch e.V." was founded on June 22, 2009, in the spa town of Gohrisch. The association's purpose is to raise public awareness of the composer Dmitri Shostakovich's stays in Gohrisch and to appropriately celebrate them. This includes the scholarly research of these visits and, above all, the organization of cultural events at the composer's places of work in Gohrisch. These events are organized and conducted in close cooperation with the Staatskapelle Dresden.

The highlight is the annual Shostakovich Days Gohrisch, featuring internationally renowned Shostakovich interpreters.
